Performance Monitoring - Major Hazard Facility (SA)
Performance monitoring is critical to ensure that the risk control measures relied upon by Major Hazard Facility (MHF) operators are implemented, functional and effective each and every time they are needed. Poorly implemented, ineffective or non-functional risk control measures can significantly increase the risk of a major incident.
MicroRisk Group was engaged by the client to design a performance monitoring program to measure the effectiveness of their MHF control measures to the satisfaction of SafeWorkSA.
MicroRisk Group undertook a detailed desktop review of performance monitoring information within the client’s Safety Case and existing performance monitoring activities. The desktop review incorporated contemporary MHF guidance from across Australia.
MicroRisk Group then worked with stakeholders at the MHF and co-designed the performance monitoring program which reflected the effectiveness of all implemented risk control measures. MicroRisk Group worked closely with the client to ensure the performance measures were both fit-for-purpose and sustainable for the MHF’s operations.
