New Dangerous Goods – Storage & Handling Regulations
WorkSafe Victoria have proposed new dangerous goods storage and handling regulations in the form of the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2022. The regulations stipulate the legal duties for manufacturers and suppliers of dangerous goods and for occupiers of premises where dangerous goods are stored or handled. These regulations ensure that risks to the health and safety of people, property and the environment posed by dangerous goods are appropriately managed.
Public comment has now closed for the proposed regulations and the regulations are expected to be implemented in October 2022 replacing the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012, which are set to expire on 27 November 2022.
